The Seaside Slide is a grass roots event hosting local paddlers and regional standouts for the opening of the paddling competition season in California. The racers check-in will start at 8:00am Saturday on the Seaside Reef parking lot. After all racers are checked-in, all paddlers will navigate the shore break to the “Starting Line”. The course follows the kelp line North to Moonlight Beach - Encinitas where paddlers will turn around the buoy located off the beach and head back toward the “Starting Line”. Paddlers will have to decide to either stay inside the kelp bed on calmer water or outside with the shortest distance. The choice of the course might be decisive when seconds separate paddlers. Paddlers then will make their way to shore for the award ceremony, raffles, food and drinks.
